Spiders Really Do Live Under Toilet Seats

เขียนโดย Eva | 04:06

If you've ever heard anything about Australia it may be that you've been told to look under the toilet seat for Redback spiders before stealing some uninterrupted time in the quietest and darkest room of the house - the Aussie outback toilet. Australia is home to some of the most-deadly insects and arachnids in the world - all of which, despite their fearsome reputation, are extremely photographic.

Macro photography is generally recognized as the art of capturing images of small objects at a scale larger than life. Insects and spiders fit perfectly into the serious macro photographer's psyche as they pose in unpredictable positions and are always on the move. Depending on the insect - this can make it extremely difficult to capture them clearly-enough for the photograph to be of high-enough quality for presentation value.

The Australian Redback spider is a very timid creature. It lives in warm dark places such as wood piles, under the eaves of homes, along timber fences and yes - even under the famed outback Aussie toilet seat! They've even started to make their presence known in the steel cities of Japan - courtesy of shipments of Australian iron ore.

Finding a Redback can sometimes be the easy part of the shoot - they're everywhere in summer. Getting the little creature to keep still and pose in the right position and light can be the difficult part.

Shooting macro photography images usually means getting as close as only a couple of inches away from the subject. This can sometimes be a disturbing experience when photographing the Redback. They're mostly shy and sometimes move fast.

I've never read anywhere that Redback spiders can jump; however I've had a couple of experiences where I've witnessed this. It's usually the smaller ones that will leap from the leaf of a shrub and swing on a fine thread to the ground in an attempt to escape. So when you've spent the last five minutes setting up the shot only to see the highly magnified spider disappear from the eyepiece of the camera in an instant - you'll find yourself spending the next fifteen minutes looking for the damn thing up the leg of your trousers!

The silky smooth blackness of the Redback in sunlight lends itself to a set of gleaming macro photographs you'll be proud to show to your friends.

If you go searching for a Redback to photograph, be warned; around 200 Australians are bitten each year!

5 Good Reasons to Own a Canon Camera!

เขียนโดย Eva | 04:01

I'm going to get straight to the point! If you don't know what a Canon Camera is then I will tell you they are a fine piece of technology to own. A Canon digital camera is a camera that can take pictures digitally without the use of film! Canon makes a great deal of cameras ranging from the entry level point and shoot all the way up to the DSLR ones professionals use. You can buy them at just about any big chain retail store, but they are not cheap. Not as cheap as the ones you see next with them in the store, but that leads me to my first reason why you should own a Canon digital camera.

1. You should own a Canon camera because they cost more! That's right, I said they cost more because there is a reason behind that. If you ever looked at something and compared it to the other same items you noticed that there are some more costly than others! They all do the same thing, but yet there is a price difference between some of them. There could be a huge difference in price too! The reason lies behind the fact that the more expensive items in the same category are made better! The manufacture decided they wanted to add some better parts or features to that them in order for to be above the competition.

Well, those extra features and parts rack up the cost a little more, and they know that when it is being compared to, the quality they give will be better than what is offered. The manufacture cannot sell these products for what the competition sells theirs for because they are using way better parts so they increase their the cost of their product a little more, but they know it is absolutely better than what is being offered. You should as a smart buyer take that into consideration and spend a little more on one of Canon's cameras!

2. You should own a Canon because they take quality pictures! Have you ever seen a picture online or somewhere and thought it did not look good? The truth is that picture you saw was from a poorly made camera. In fact, it probably wasn't Canon that took the photo. Canon have very strict standards of quality to follow in order to produce the best images. Whether it is from a low cost Canon camera or from one of their professional grade cameras, they always take high quality pictures which results in the best photos. Additionally canons are known for this in the industry! Take advantage of the excellent photo quality Canon cameras produce!

3. You should own a Canon camera because they are built very well. Well, I take that back. They are built like TANKS! These cameras are no joke. Canon's high standards have yielded a camera that can take abuse. I wouldn't advise you dropping one of these if you own one, but they can take a beating. These cameras are so well built I have heard them surviving months and months of constant neglect from their owners. An example would be a friend of mine who had recently purchased a Canon camera. He decided it was just another camera and didn't care much about it. I have seen him drop it numerous times, shake it because he thought it froze on him, and left it in subzero temperatures only to find out he forgot it was there for days. After picking it up in those conditions and turning it on, the camera immediately functioned the way it was designed to. Snap shot and abuse after snap shot they can take a beating!

4. You should own a Canon because the lenses Canon uses are of the best in the industry. Even if you buy a point and shoot Canon if you look closely the lens is made of some of the highest materials! You can see VERY clearly through them, even for a person who has less than ideal vision. Anyone will notice an absolute clarity inside. The lenses Canon produces are very resistant to scratches and swirl marks. If you see something that may consist of a scratch or swirl mark try wiping it away with a soft cloth. That false scratch or swirl will go away instantly! On to the DSLR side of Canon their lenses are made of quality standards so high you cannot ruin them easily or get a bad picture! Unless you had the focus completely off and decided to use a different approach to your photography. Other than those few briefly mentioned quality standards, Canon lenses are amazing!

5. You should own a Canon because they have the best post processing software available to you! Canon's camera packages not only come with manuals, pages of additional information clearly written, but they include some of the best, if not BEST software package given free of charge for you to utilize after you have taken your pictures! You will have so much fun editing or fine tuning your photos to the way you exactly intended by using their top notch software. It also makes organizing your photos a piece of cake. If you want to fix sharpness issues, you can do that in their software. What about color tone? It's simple using just a few mouse clicks and your set. Got a problem with brightness? That's easy, just slide in your preference their awesome brightness tool and you're set. It doesn't get much better and easier with Canon's great software package all included with their high quality cameras!

Well, those are some strong solid 5 reasons I just gave you to own a Canon camera, and that is just scratching the surface. I haven't even talked about iso performance, flash capabilities, longer battery life, Canon DSLR being the way to go, megapixel quality, digic processors, and much more. If you'd like to learn more about these fine electronic items feel free to check out below!

The Concept of Zoom Lenses

เขียนโดย Eva | 03:21

Zoom lenses (those in which focal length and, hence, the field of view can be adjusted without affecting focus) are fitted almost universally to non-SLR digital cameras. Not only are these zoom lenses convenient for the photographer - they provide a choice of subject framings and magnifications all from the same shooting position - their optical form also allows camera designers to build more efficient autofocusing systems into them. The benefit of this from the photographer's point of view is a less-bulky lens system that requires less battery power to operate.

Most zoom lenses on digital cameras start at quite a moderate wide-angle focal length of a 35efl of approximately 35mm. More extreme focal lengths are difficult to achieve because of the optical characteristics of the small photosensors used for image capture, which tend to cause a darkening at the periphery of wide-angle images. When wider angles of view are required) accessory lenses can be screwed into the front of the digital zoom to extend its range, though image distortion is likely as a result.

At the other end of the zoom range, however, lenses can reach high image magnifications - a 35efl of 350mm in one model - although focal lengths of around 120mm are more usual. Be aware that along with magnifying a small part of the field of view to fill the frame, long focal lengths also magnify the effects of camera shake on the image. Some cameras and lenses, notably those from Olympus and Canon, respectively, offer technologies that significantly reduce the effect of camera shake.

The greatest range of lens focal lengths are available only with digital SLR cameras. With these cameras, zoom lenses can extend from ultra wide-angle focal lengths of, say, 17mm to a moderate 35mm, or from a modest 100mm focal length to a 560mm super-telephoto.

The most tempting zooms are those covering a range from wide-angle through to telephoto - 28-300mm, for example, or 35-350mm. The best of modern designs can deliver excellent image quality over these ranges, but a high financial price needs to be paid. You pay in another sense, too: maximum apertures are often limited, making them suitable for use in bright light only, and the lenses are large and heavy.

What Does Today's Music Show About Us As a Society?

เขียนโดย Eva | 02:11

Many of you might not have thought about this question, or even about this topic. But the fact is that the type of music that is present in today's times defines us as a society. The situation is the same if we take into consideration the clothing, hair styles and other aspects of visual identification of the individuals.

But what I am talking about, is actually something which is more important - especially since music is based upon rhythm, and as you might be aware, everything in our world is also based upon rhythm. As an example, the heart beats at a certain rhythm, the cells transduct signals at a certain rhythm etc.

Anyways, if we take a look about the popularity of different song types in today's world and we compare it to the music from all the way from the 18th century, until today - we can see that there is a very big difference. Why is this so? And furthermore, what kind of value does today's music have?

You may or may not agree with what I say, but the fact is, that music from the 18th century is still present in today's times - and the most popular hits from the late 90's and early 2000's has long been forgotten. This must mean one thing - that today's music is mostly based upon what the distribution companies feel is worthy being published - thus it is based upon money.

I hope that this article has in some way helped you to witness the negative things, and the positive things as well, in regards to what development our society as a whole has chosen in the topic of music.

The only thing that I can urge you to do is to start thinking about what you can do to change this. Thus, what you can do to make this world a slight better place for all of us. Because, as I mentioned, music, thus rhythm, is the basis of everything.

5 Reasons You Should Not Retire Now

เขียนโดย Eva | 23:12

Most people dream about the day they will be able to retire from their full-time job. The thought of being able to escape the daily grind is a dream that many of us share. However, before you take the plunge, there are some things, financial and otherwise, that you should consider.

Your health. Just because you retire from a full-time job doesn't mean that you necessarily need to retire from an active life. There are many studies that have found that staying active, whether it be with a part-time job or some type of volunteer activity, is crucial to keeping your mind and body in good physical and mental condition.

Your marriage. Even though couples promise to stay together "for better or for worse", that doesn't mean that you want to spend 24 hours per day together. There should be some planning and negotiation that need to take place before either husband or wife decides to retire.

Taxes. Retirees can begin taking penalty-free withdrawals from their 401(k) accounts at age 55 and IRA withdrawals at age 59 1/2. However, these withdrawals are still going to be subject to income tax. By delaying the withdrawal of funds from these accounts, they can continue to grow at a compound rate for more years, thus giving you a bigger retirement account on which to live.

Social Security. You may begin receiving Social Security checks at age 62 1/2, but you will pay a penalty in that you future checks will be reduced by 25 to 35 percent. If you delay signing up for Social Security to the age of between 62 and 70, your benefit will increase by up to 7 to 8 percent per year.

Health benefits. Those who retire before age 65, the age at which you qualify for Medicare, must worry how to pay for expensive health insurance premiums until they do qualify for Medicare. The costs for health insurance will be extremely expensive, even if you belong to a company-sponsored plan as you will probably be required to pick up the company's portion of that health premium in retirement.

There are many other reasons why you should consider whether or not to retire in the near future. We will explore some of those issues in a future article.

The Best SLR Cameras Under $1000

เขียนโดย Eva | 22:26

You have probably been thinking about buying a digital SLR for a long time. The many choices and price ranges can make your head spin. I am going to help you pick out the best SLR cameras for under $1000.

There are really 3 major players in the digital SLR game for under $1000. Canon, Nikon, and Pentax. Some players are seasoned veterans, others are relative newcomers (but shouldn't be discounted)

Canon SLR Camera

Canon has contenders... the EOS Rebel T1i, the EOS Rebel XS and the EOS Rebel XSi. We are going to focus on the T1i as I think it is the best under $1000. The other 2 are certainly great for the budget conscious, but offer less features.

Canon EOS Rebel T1i offers 15.1 mega-pixels (highest in the under $1000 crowd) and a great Creative Auto mode which teaches you how to take more manual control of your camera. There are also 60 lenses available that work with this camera and it shoots 1080p HD video.

Nikon SLR Camera

Nikon also has 3 contenders... the D5000, the D90 and the D3000. I like the D90, although the D5000 has a tilt and swivel LCD monitor which is a great feature if you've ever used one.

Nikon D90 offers 12.3 mega-pixels and 720p HD video. Nikons perform great in low light and indoor scenes. The best part is the integrated auto-focus motor... meaning you can use more Nikkor lenses and still have auto-focus.

Pentax SLR Camera

Pentax is a relative newcomer to the SLR scene, but user reviews are pushing its cameras to the top. Its top contenders are the K20D, the K200d and the K2000. Pentax is definitely a price conscious brand with tons of features. I like the D20D (cheaper than both the Canon and the Nikon fave).

Pentax K20D has 14.6 mega-pixels and is noted for its dust and weather resistant body. A rugged camera that is backward compatible with all Pentax lenses (some require adapters). But best performance comes their lenses designed for digital cameras. Lenses marked "WR" have additional protection against the weather as well.

So now you've got a good handle on the which digital camera to buy. Check out this article on SLR Camera Buying Tips. The only thing you have to decide is whether you want to bump up your price range to see what's available in the $1000 to $2000 range. Happy shopping!

PMA 2008 - New Nikon Lenses

เขียนโดย Eva | 22:02

This year Nikon is introducing some very cool new lenses. The 16-85mm zoom has VRII, that means virbration reduction, which can get you up to 4 more stops for exposure in a zoom lens. Then the Tilt/Shift Lens called 24mm PC/E . Like having a View Camera in your hands with perspective control and a tilt feature. Canon has had one of these for years but this update, finally brings the Nikon series in-line. And it's arguably a better lens.Watch for the 45 and 85 PC/E later. The Micro Nikkor has been around for years and the new 60mm deserves a spot in your camera bag. Visit photoinduced.com for more.

Canon 550D Review of the New Features

เขียนโดย Eva | 21:26

The Canon 550D dSLR was announced by Canon in February 2010 for release in April 2010. The camera boasts several significant improvements over the Canon 500D including better HD video, 18 megapixel images, and a much improved metering system that was previously only available in the much higher priced Canon 7D dSLR.

18 megapixel images

The image quality of the new 550D Canon improves significantly on the previous models in the line jumping from 12MP and 15MP to 18MP. Added to this is the inclusion of the latest DIGIC 4 image processor technology, the 500D used the DIGIC 3 technology, and you'll find that the photographs captured will be of much better quality.

New iFCL Metering System

The Canon 550D includes the new iFCL metering system which includes many advances in image capturing technology. For example the new system uses a 63 zone sensor which analyses focus, color and luminance simultaneously to provide accurate and consistant metering. This was previously only available on the much more expensive semi-pro Canon 7D.

High Definition Video

The HD video introduced to the range with the Canon 500D has grown up and now boasts many improvements shooting at 1080p or 720p. The camera gives you full control over the frame rate so you can even capture fast moving images by manually adjusting the settings.

ISO Improvements for Low Light Conditions

The 550D offers a standard ISO range up to 6400 which can be expanded to 12800 for situations where the use of a flash is either undesirable or not allowed. The increased range allows low-light photography and the DIGIC 4 image processor ensures graininess is kept to a minimum.

Movie Crop - Shoot at standard definition without changing lenses

The new movie crop function allows you to shoot movies at standard definition at up to 7x effective zoom. This is great for situations where you don't have time or don't want to change the lens. The function achieves this result by using only the center area of the sensor.

Improvements in the LCD Screen

Canon have also improved the LCD screen, it's still a great 3" but now improves the resolution and increases clarity for the all important checks on the images as you shoot them.

Improving on a Strong Line

The Canon 550D is fully compatible with EF and EF-S lenses as well as EX-Speedlite accessories so none of your existing lenses will suddenly become unusable. Add to this the improvements in control functions and it all starts to make the idea of upgrading to the Canon 550D an irresistable choice.

This is a powerful and yet relatively lightweight lens with fast and quiet zooming. People that have used this lens a report getting clear, sharp images even in the 200mm to 300mm range, getting great results even at full zoom.

Several of the people that have used this product report using it at sporting events and for wildlife photography and that they were able to zoom quickly, line up their shot, and start snapping pictures with excellent quality. The image stabilization feature with this lens allows you to get distant shots without the need for a tripod.

The only real drawbacks to this lens according to our research is that because it extends as it zooms it is difficult to put a hood on the lens for shooting in brightly lit conditions. Also, the auto-focus doesn't work as quickly when you're trying to take low contrast images.

Aside from these minor drawbacks the reviews for the Canon EF 70-300mm lens are fantastic with the overwhelming majority of people giving this product very high marks. According to our research this is a top quality product at a reasonable price and is definitely worthy of your consideration if you are in the market for a telephoto lens.

These Fuji Cameras include Motion Remover Mode, which removes moving objects from a scene by combining five frames into one or more Motion Capture Mode, which captures the same five frames and does the opposite; Pro Light Mode, which combines high and low ISO exposures to reduce blur caused by camera shake; and Motion Panorama Mode, which captures a panoramic view in a single sweeping movement by capturing a series of shots in rapid succession.

If you feel that there are plenty of cameras to choose from, the number of available lenses is overwhelming. Digital lenses come in all manners of shapes and sizes, and vary massively in price. Canon Digital Camera - From Humble Beginnings to World Class Company

เขียนโดย Eva | 19:52

Started in a single-room by three Japanese men in the year 1933 under the name of Precision Optical Instruments Laboratory, Canon has come a long way today. It all began with the phantom prototype camera called the 'Kwanon'. At that time, Germany was considered to be the leader in camera production. German cameras were extremely expensive. So, Goro Yoshida, along with two others tried to produce a 35mm rangefinder camera at a cheaper price and came up with "Kwanon'.

However, at that time, one of the problems faced by the company was that it did not have a lens of its own. So, it decided to tie up with Nippon Kogaku Kogyo (who was to become the founder of Nikon) and acquire lenses from them. With the use of these lenses, Canon came up with its first commercial camera called the "Hansa Canon" in 1936 which became a hit. However, the company still had to go through hardships due to the War.

After the war, the company officially adopted the name "Canon" as its name. Up till then, the lens was under a different name, the camera had a different name and the company had a different name. So, in order to unify all these three, Canon came into existence on September 15, 1947. Slowly the company started to expand, and many historical cameras were created such as the Serenar 50mm f/1.8 lens in 1951, Canonet in 1961, AF35M (Autoboy) in 1979 and the EOS 650 in 1987.

The first Canon digital camera was the PowerShot 600 in 1996. Then, after making several advances in digital technology, Canon launched the EOS D2000 digital SLR camera in 1998 for professionals. In addition, the XL1 digital video camera was introduced. Due to its superior functionality and reliability, the XL1 became the official digital video camcorder of the NASA.

In order to provide the market with a cost effective camera along with superior functionality and performance, Canon introduced the EOS D60 in 2002 and the EOS 10D in 2003. These two cameras made Canon the market leader in digital technology. Then, the EOS Kiss Digital was introduced in 2003, which became a big success.

Today, Canon has introduced several digital camcorders. Starting with the FV30 and the FV200KIT in 2002, Canon went onto launch the FV M1 and the IXY DV M2 in 2003 in the mid range segment. As the company progresses, Canon continue to strive to provide its consumers with better and better technology at the lowest price possible. They have been known as a choice of the pros for many years in the world of photography but now with a broad line of products Canon is firmly positioned in the consumer market as well.

What is More Important? - Camera Body, Or Lens?

เขียนโดย Eva | 19:17

What are important things to know when deciding which photography equipment to get?

When I got interested in photography, I had absolutely no idea about which equipment to get. It was because there were so many different kinds of cameras to choose from, and not to mention all different kinds of lenses. Many of the people who are starting out on photography really do not know what kinds of equipment to get. It is because the world of photography is changing so fast that it is evolving as you read this article.

Compared to 10 years ago, the world of photography took a new form on how to capture the moments. The new introduction of digital sensors made the film to be obsolete, and made a film division of a global company like Agfa to discontinue its film line not too long ago. Some of the major producers of film camera even discontinued their lines of film cameras.

I started photography long before the digital cameras started to surface on the consumer market. So, I had to buy film cameras. I still do enjoy using film cameras and will continue to do so as long as the films are available in the market. It is because there is this true enjoyment of developing your own film in the darkroom that many people who started on photography with digital do not know about.

Although many people are already used to the digital cameras, but they do not really know what it is that they need to get when it comes to getting the equipments for serious photography. Most of the people just talk about how many mega-pixels the cameras have, and have no idea on what kind of camera they got. So, I will explain them to you so that you can make right decisions on getting the right camera equipments for you.

This is what most of the people do. They just see the picture on the display, and they are very happy with the image that they see on the screen. But, if you are serious about photography, then you should know that what you see on the screen is never the same with the pictures you are going to get. It is because of the quality of the camera equipments determines how the pictures are going to look like. Of course, there are many other factors that determines how to pictures are going to look. But, camera equipments are what you can control to create beautiful pictures.

There are basically three different types of cameras. They are point and shoot cameras, rangefinder cameras, and SLR (Single Lens Reflect) cameras. If you want to be serious with photography, then I personally recommend SLR cameras, and here is why.

The point and shoot cameras are what you see most of the times with other people. These cameras are basically computed image capturing devices. Some of them actually have built-in zoom lens and do more things then typical point and shoot cameras. Personally, I would not even call these as cameras, because they use digital sensors not like the old point and shoot film cameras where the images are being embedded onto the film which sometimes you can still get very high quality pictures. Most of the times, the point and shoot digital cameras have low quality digital imaging processors that the end result is not even worth the time for making a print. On this kind of camera, you basically have no control or very little control on how the pictures are being taken. You should stay away from this kind of cameras because you have basically no control on how you want your pictures to look like.

Next is rangefinder cameras, and I do not like them because it is a hybrid between point and shoot and SLR together. You have the control on focal lengths which basically is the ability to shoot different distances by changing lenses, but have approximate view on what you are really taking pictures of. It is because you are not seeing what the camera is taking pictures of. You are seeing through this open slot on the corner to take the pictures of. I can not compose my picture correctly with this type of cameras, so I do not own one of these cameras.

The one that I recommend is SLR cameras, and it is because you have the full control of what you can really control. The more you are able to control how the pictures are being taken, the more you will have better pictures. If you like film and know how to use film, then go on the internet and you will plenty of great used professional film camera equipments for very low price. On film cameras, you don't have to get the best of the best because the images are being captured on the film. So, just get mid level to professional level according to your budget. I do recommend Nikon because their lenses are good compare to their prices, and you can use the old Nikon lenses to any new Nikon bodies. This is very important because you will save lots of money when you decide to get more serious. Old canon lenses are not compatible to new Canon bodies, so I would stay away.

For those who chose to go digital, then you have to get the best and spend some serious dollars. With Nikon, you have to get at least D200 or better. It is because when you are taking pictures, the sensor is recording the images. If you get a cheaper digital camera, then you will be spending lots of money upgrading cameras as you become more and more serious. On digital cameras, it is not all about mega-pixels. It is about quality of the pixels and how the camera is recording the data from the sensor. Cheaper digital cameras, quality of the image is so dramatically different then the high end ones that you will be able to notice the differences when you compare the pictures side by side. That is the reason why I bought Nikon D3 when I had Nikon D2X which I upgraded from D1X.

I got these cameras because I am a professional, and I had to get these cameras to deliver highest quality. But if you are starting your path as a serious photographer, then go buy a used high end digital camera. It is because digital is keep getting updated and when you decide to upgrade, you would not lose too much money selling the old one to get a newer one.

Also, it is very crucial to get the faster lenses. I recommend spending more money on lenses then camera bodies. It is because camera lenses are what brings the images to your film or sensor. Don't be frugal on lenses! Get the best lenses possible. For a starter, I would recommend lenses with minimum F3.5 to F4. If you are really serious, then get F2.8. You will see that bodies will change, but the lenses will be there for you as long as you do photography. I would recommend 28-70mm F2.8 if you have digital camera with 1.5 crop factor or DX format, and 70-200mm F2.8 if you have full frame digital camera or FX format. Just having one of these lenses according to the camera body you got, you will be in pretty good shape just starting out.

Many people are saying "You must have 35mm or 50mm if you are using 35mm camera!", but I find that to be just a waste of money getting those lenses which you most likely would not use unless you always want to capture everything wide.

I will post more helpful stuff later...

I hope this helped you guys.

Old Fashioned High Resolution Photo Camera

เขียนโดย Eva | 03:33

Tired of trying to keep updated with the highest mega pixel resolution digital camera? Well even if one has tried to do that, most certainly he will soon find out that his few months old digital camera is outdated in terms of mega pixel resolution. It's an ever changing kind of product that has become very hard to keep updated, unless one is willing to spend more money by making purchases every six to twelve months.

If the main intention of purchasing a photo camera is enlarging the image, then mega pixel resolution indeed will become the main factor. In this case one might consider a different option, which will keep his product updated for years to come. I'm talking about a used 4x5" film photo camera, together with a high resolution flat bed film scanner. All of this for less than one thousand US dollars. With all of this, one will get over 100 mega pixels in fine detailed film resolution and fine scanned digital images that can be enlarged up to 30x40" in size with professional quality. These 4x5" film cameras have done a remarkable job in general personal and commercial photography such as wedding, portraiture, product, documentary, advertising and landscape for nearly a hundred years.

Where to find 4x5" used film cameras? Since some of these cameras were mostly used in the past, until the 1960's, it should be no problem in finding them in American auction web sites. Anyway, a good used 4x5" camera with lens can be found for less than four hundred US dollars.

As for the flat bed film scanner, one can find brand new ones for less than five hundred US dollars. Just make sure the scanner is able to scan films.

Whenever purchasing a 4x5" film camera, one should look for the following features: folds into a compact box, flexible bellows, lenses that can be easily interchanged, accepts sheet film, ground glass focusing screen, easily handheld and optical viewfinder accessory.

As for the lenses, there are four main categories: 1 - general purposes; 2 - wide field (mostly used for close up work and landscape); 3 - extreme wide angles lenses; 4 - special effects lenses (telephoto). However, one might use a general purpose 127 or 152mm lens for most of his photograph sessions. In cases where it requires special lenses, such as architecture or macro photography, one will still find lots of them available in auction sites. Used lenses for 4x5" cameras made after World War II have excellent performances comparable to today's modern lenses.

Whenever making a purchase of a 4x5" camera make sure that: 1 - the bellows have no light leaks, 2 - the lens shutter works accurate at all speeds; 4 - the lens elements have no fungus and scratches of any kind; 4 - the focus is working properly between the ground glass and the film.

The option of using a 4x5" film camera, together with a flat bed film scanner, for enlarging images with professional quality is viable and accessible. Cheaper than top digital cameras, the 4x5" film camera offers better image quality and will always be updated in the future, maintaining its original value.

For those who wishes the very most detailed image enlargement, one can always use the 8x10" film camera. Four times the physical film size of the 4x5", this option offers so much film resolution that it is considered by many as the ultimate step for photo image enlargement.

Sometimes analog products deliver better results that its digital counter parts. If you are doing the job of enlarging photo images, you should give it a try with a 4x5" camera. You might just surprise yourself.

GRAVEL music video by EMBER FX (Hi-Def 1080p, filmed on Canon 5d Mark II 2

เขียนโดย Eva | 11:32

This is the music video for the song "Gravel" by Ember Fx. Filmed entirely on the Canon 5D Mark II camera at 30fps then slowed down to 24fps. Lead singer Michael Berns had to sing to a version of the song that was sped up by 125% during filming. Then, when the footage was slowed down in post production to 24fps in Final Cut Pro, it matched the original speed of the album version of "Gravel"and Michael appears to move in slow motion. Visit EmberFx.com, join the mailing list. Cinematography was by Mark Richard Berns Additional notes on filming... Gravel was shot using 4 prime lenses only-Canon Ef Lens 85mm f/1.2L, Ef 200mm f/2L, Ef 24mm f/1.4L II, Canon Ef 135mm f/2.0 -The slow motion technique whereby the song is filmed at a faster speed then slowed down in post production gained popularity as effect after Coldplay used the technique in their music video for the song "Yellow." But Coldplay shot "Yellow" at 50fps and slowed it down to 25fps, which created a much more noticeable slow motion effect than the 30fps to 24fps change seen in Gravel.
